Big spoilers for Book of Boba Fett(as big as a bantha)!!!

Mando’s back baby! Nerds around the world (including me) rejoiced as everyone favourite chrome-dome bounty hunter was back on our screens. Except this time he’s sad. Without Grogu/Baby Yoda/The Child to care for, Mando has let anger cloud his judgment and is taking out bounties because he doesn't know what else to do.His life is missing a Grogu shaped hole and he needs to fill it with something.

After cutting up a butchers shop with his new and improved Darksaber gifted to him by Bo Katan, he goes back to his Mandalorian crew, now consisting of the blacksmith and a really swole Mandalorian who is probably played by Jon Favreau. They retcon that Rebels episode where Sabine Wren, gives Bo Katan the darksaber by stating that she isn't the true ruler of Mandalore because she was just handed it, like you'd pass someone a fiver to buy a pint. Mando explains what he has been up to in the past season of his own show, something something, Luke Skywalker deepfake, whilst the blacksmith makes Grogu some Beskar swag at the request of Mando. Have they made Beskar ear amour for Grogu? Is that really stupid fan service? Yes and Yes. Anyway, after some much needed training with the Darksaber by the Blacksmith, Mando is about to leave when Swole Mando challenges him to combat. The winner will be given the Darksaber and named the rightful ruler of Mandalore, despite the planet itself being nuked to kingdom come in a cool flashback, this time being told without the medium of a bacta tank. Swole Mando knocks Mando around for a bit until Mando realises he is far better without the Darksaber and decides to get in a couple of stabs with his little knife, Mando pretty much wins the fight after that. The Blacksmith is about to proclaim him the winner when she asks have either of them ever taken off their helmet before as it is against Mandalorian creed to do so. Swole Mando being the goody two shoes that he is, says he hasn't whereas our boi Mando, obviously showed his handsome mug to Grogu at the end of the last Season of the Mandalorian. Since he has taken off his helmet, he is cast out of the Mandalorian club and is now simply a depressed dad/bounty hunter. Without a ship, he is now forced to do something no fan would think they would ever see in a Star Wars show, use public transport. Mando goes to the spaceport and hilarity ensues. He gets stopped going through security, he’s just like that one family member who without fail always gets stopped at every airport. So relatable. Mando has to leave all his weapons at the gate, which makes you wonder, what do you do if your a bounty hunter without a ship, must be a hard life.

Anyway, Mando, stares into space whilst thinking about his life, when suddenly Baby Greedo, or a child Rodian waves at Mando, reminding him of his favourite surrogate son. That Grogu shaped hole is only getting bigger, absence makes the hole grow bigger, or something like that. After getting his weapons back from security, he goes to see everyones favourite character, unnamed mechanic with a New York accent. AKA the cat from Bojack Horseman. Mando wants her to build a Razorcrest 2, she cant do that and instead gives him the next best thing, more fan service in the form of a Naboo starfighter. Is it the same one Anakin flew in Episode I? No, but that wont stop a million “things you missed” Youtube videos trying to convince you they're the same ship. Then we cut to an epic ship building montage complete with droid hijinks, a really fast jawa delivery service and the ship being spray painted grey because of course, everything Mando owns has to be grey. With the ship complete he goes for a test flight but gets pulled over by X Wing cops. I guess Dave Filoni was too busy writing that Ashoka show to cameo as his incredibly popular character, X wing pilot, Trapper Wolf. You can even buy an action figure of him, for some reason. Not Dave Filoni, lets Mando off the hook and he zooms back to Tatooine where he finds the MVP of this show Fennec Shand waiting for him. She offers Mando some work, he accepts but insists on paying a visit to a little friend first. Will Baby Yoda be in the next episode? Is this way too much fan service for a Boba Fett show? Will Boba Fett be in his own show? Find out the answers to some of these questions next week!
